This Privacy Policy explains how Band of Capes Pvt. Ltd. (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use Jigsaw Journal (the “Service”) — our mobile app and website. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Section 1 — Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you create an account we collect your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account’s email address, name, and profile picture.
- Profile. A username (handle), and anything you optionally add such as a bio, region, and profile photo.
- Your activity and content. Puzzles you save, collections, wishlist, solve progress and times, posts, reviews, comments, and any puzzles or brands you submit and images you upload.
- Messages to us. The contents of any support email or feedback you send.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data. Your device’s IP address, device and operating-system details, and in-app activity (screens viewed, features used) collected through analytics to help us understand and improve the Service.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data so we can find and fix problems.

Section 2 — How We Use Your Information
- To create and operate your account and provide the Service.
- To power social and gameplay features — profiles, feeds, leaderboards, collections, competitions, and recommendations.
- To send notifications and Service emails you have opted into.
- To analyze usage, diagnose crashes, and improve the Service.
- To keep the Service safe, enforce our Terms, and comply with the law.
Section 3 — How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these ways:
- Publicly, at your direction. Your profile and the content you post (reviews, comments, collections you make public, leaderboard entries) are visible to other users of the Service.
- Service providers (sub-processors) who process data on our behalf: Google (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, Google Sign-In, and Google Play), Amazon Web Services (application hosting, image/media storage, and transactional email), and Expo(push-notification delivery). Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
- Legal & safety. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
- Business transfer. If our business is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner to continue operating the Service.
Some providers may store or process data in jurisdictions different from your own.
Section 4 — Your Choices, Account & Data Deletion
Delete your account in the app. Open the menu, go to Settings, tap Delete account, and confirm. This is permanent and immediate: it erases your account and personal data — your profile, collections, wishlist, solve progress, posts, reviews, comments — and best-effort removes images you uploaded.
Request deletion by email. If you can’t use the app, email us at service@bandofcapes.com from your account email and we will delete your account for you.
What may remain. Puzzles or brands you submitted to the shared catalog stay available to the community, but are disassociated from you (no longer linked to your account). Residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups and in third-party logs before they age out. We may retain the minimum information needed to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Other choices. You can edit your profile at any time, and turn push notifications off in your device settings. To withdraw consent to marketing emails, use the unsubscribe option or contact us.
Section 5 — Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account we remove your personal data as described above, except where limited retention is required by law or for legitimate business needs.
Section 6 — Security
We take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Authentication uses bearer tokens; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Section 7 — Payment
Jigsaw Journal is free to use. We do not process payments and do not collect or store your card data.
Section 8 — Cookies & Session
We use a session token to keep you signed in. Our website uses only what is needed to operate; we do not use it to track you across other websites.
Section 9 — Children
The Service is not directed to children under 14 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region). By using the Service you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Section 10 — Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
